Cool delicious burst of protein with a nod to Hawaii
At home
Sauce: pour into empty salad dressing bottle and shake
- ½ cup soy sauce we use gluten free tamari cause we have Celiac
- 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
- ¼ teaspoon pepper flakes or 1/2 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
Mix in bowl at campsite (tuna will thaw in minutes after you toss it with the sauce)
- 1 frozen sushi-grade tuna filet cut into 1 inch cubes
- chopped green onion
- Sauce
Toppings
- thinly sliced or shredded vegetables carrot and daikon are good
- pickled ginger
- sesame seeds
Compose each serving
- cold rice
- tuna mixture
- toppings
Instructions
- Cook rice and make sauce at home
- Pack frozen tuna, sauce, rice, and toppings in cooler
- Enjoy after a hike or on a warm day
